As the rigors of winter fade, a single gold crocus pushes through the mulch of my barren flowerbed and preens in the sun like a rollicking clown—the tenth year of such flowerings that reveals the Creator’s kiss.
Glad are our hearts this morning.

Thanks, Ginny, for your response. Actually, it will be 13 years next month that I¹ve lived here and never been happier. The previous owners had the flowerbeds planted with perennials that eventually died out. The gold crocus appeared the following year.
